Botox injections are noted primarily for the ability to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. They’re also used to treat conditions such as neck spasms, excessive sweating, lazy eye, lazy eye, and even to help prevent chronic migraines.
Botox injections use a toxin called onobotulinumtoxinA to temporarily prevent a muscle from moving. Botox injections block certain chemical signals from nerves, mostly signals that cause muscles to contract. The most common use of these injections is to temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause wrinkles in the forehead and around the eyes.
Botox must be used only under a doctor’s care. It’s important that injections be placed precisely in order to avoid side effects. Dr. Rawnsley can advise you on the procedure and help determine if it best suits your needs and health.
As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat. The facial muscles are then working closer to the skin surface, so smile lines and crow’s feet become more apparent. Many visible signs of aging can be traced back to volume loss. As facial tissues thin out, lines become more apparent around the nose, mouth, and cheeks. Dermal fillers can replace lost volume to help smooth wrinkles, plump the lips, and restore a more youthful appearance.
Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, smooth lines and soften creases, or enhance facial contours.
Dermal fillers help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face.
Dermal fillers can be injected to: Plump thin lips, enhance shallow contours, soften facial creases and wrinkles, and improve the appearance of recessed scars. Dermal fillers can be very helpful in those with early signs of aging, or as a value-added part of facial rejuvenation surgery.
